Renovations/Construction at the Golf Course?

Have you ever played at a golf course that was under construction or being renovated? What was your experience like?
Were you aware of the construction before arriving? Was there a discounted green fee? How was your game affected?

I have played at a few courses that were undergoing construction. I have never recieved a discount to play at these places. Usually, the course will not undergo "major" construction during the middle of the season so it is not usually difficult or obstructive to play at these places. If a ball is to land in an area undergoing construction, it is almost always a free drop, no closer to the pin. If anything, I enjoy the little added hardship of playing with more obstructions. It helps to make you a better golfer in the long run.
